Dry Eyes – the Concern of All People

Glaucoma involves the death of optic nerve fibers, caused by a lack of blood nutrition. The blood flow to the optic nerve connects the back of the eye to the brain. Some people want to know how they can prevent the development of glaucoma. Actually there is no scientific answer. Doctors often recommend taking certain drugs and nutritional agents to improve optic nerve nutrition. Smoking, alcohol abuse, unhealthy diet and obesity should be avoided.

Nearly half people in the world are attacked by more or less eye problems. Some may be serious, and you can notice the symptom at once, while some are minor, and you may feel fine though you have already gotten eye problems. So that’s why you should go to your optician for an eye check regularly to find the potential eye disease earlier.

Dry eyes are one of the most common eye problems in the world, yet the least emphasized problem. They can be neglected easily by people for thinking it not a serious problem. But this is not true, dry eyes can affect your body health and sometimes be a sign of severe diseases. Rheumatoid arthritis is one kind of that disease which has the symptom of dry eyes.

Dry eyes are probably due to the shortage of tears in eyes. We know, our eyes are covered by a protective film which is washed by tears when eye blinking. The tears, regarded as the natural lubrication, clear away the dust and debris on eyes, as well as keeping eyes humid. Tears are secrets of being away from dry eyes.

Hardly any people do not get dry eyes in his life for it is so common, which may result from too windy or too hot weather. However, if you are a contacts’ wearer, you are more prone to dry eyes than non contacts’ wearer. Contacts are contacted with your eyes directly, and they must prevent some fluid through the lens to your eyes. In that case, eyes are easily to be dry, thus irritated and sore. So if you have dry eyes, you are suggested not to wear contacts. And you’d better to have an eye check before you decide to buy contacts. Moreover, women are more susceptive to dry eyes than men because of the monthly hormonal change and the final menopause period. That is to say, dry eyes are one part of your life, especially when you grow old.

Now that we know how the dry eyes come into being and what may cause dry eyes easily, we should know the treatments and prevention methods of dry eyes with full understanding. The most significant point to avoid the problem is to hydrate your dry eyes which can be achieved by producing ‘false tears’ in the form of eye drop. Of course, some people may choose to have an eye surgery to make the eye possible to produce its natural lubrication by itself.
