However, things could be differently. If you exercise on a regular basis, your mood will improve. People tend to feel more energy, feel more effective and productive and are emotionally more well-balanced.

The effects of physical exercise on the quality of life on menopausal women has been recently researched.. The women had a inactive life style and were overweight or obese. They participated in 3 different exercise plans with varying level of exercise intensity. A control group did not exercise.

Some women did not lose weight, because they counterbalanced the calories spent while exercising by eating more. But: For all of them their quality of life increased. And: The higher the intensity level of the exercise program, the better the women felt.

Even the workout plan with the lowest intensity had a beneficial result on the sense of well-being.

Of course, to lose weight permanently over 40 you have to integrate physical activities in your life style. However you shouldn't do it for the weight loss only. Physical Exercise will make you feel better and increase the quality of your life- especially if you are over 40.
