Four Natural Remedies for Migraines in Children

Children can have migraine headaches that are just as painful and debilitating as the ones that adults experience. Unfortunately, for younger children the treatment options are rather limited. Children can have migraine headaches that are just as painful and debilitating as the ones that adults experience.  Unfortunately, for younger children the treatment options are rather limited.  When children who suffer from migraines are under the age of 15, it is nearly impossible for doctors to provide prescription medications because of the strength and the type of chemicals that they are made of.  Most of these medications can cause serious damage to vital organs in young children.  For this reason, many parents are looking for alternative and more natural remedies to help their children get relief from their migraine headaches.

Relaxation techniques are one of the natural remedies for treating migraines in children.  In some cases, children may be stressed to the maximum from school, friends, and home and trying to find the perfect balance.  Helping your children learn some techniques for relaxing can make a big difference.  Younger children can be taught deep breathing, while older children can be taught the basics of meditation.

Temperature therapy may seem like a fancy and complicated alternative remedy, but it is rather simple.  Migraines, in most cases, respond positively to drastic changes in body temperature.  This technique involves using hot or cold compresses.  Since each migraine will be different in intensity and pain, you will have to try both hot and cold applied to the area of the most pain in order to see what will work for that particular migraine.

There are other alternative remedies that can be effective and safe for children, like herbal remedies and supplements.  It is important, though, that you always consult your child's pediatrician before you start any alternative treatments.

However, finally, there IS a superb effective new cure for migraine. If you suffer from these crippling headaches, you owe it to yourself to read about it HERE
