If You have spent some time on the internet searching on how to lose weight, I would like to provide you with some tips. Trying a sample in assisting you to lose weight is a great no risk way to see what will suite you. but I also want to share some helpful tips that will most definitely get you started on losing weight before you even buy, try or start a weight loss program. Right now so many people are suffering not only from self esteem and body image issues leading to self depression and also people are aware that as a result of being overweight, is either already having an effect on their health or leading to health issues. You may already be in one of the above categories, you may have already tried so many different things, you may have already been on or heard of certain products, however, due to not knowing some real simple things and having an awareness of some of the things I am going to share here with you, you may have failed in the past. You may have lost motivation and although you have a weight loss suggestion or sample in front of you because of fear of failure again you put the items on the back burner. You know, everyone and everything around you changes and gets better, when you feel better about yourself and my purpose here is to have you put yourself first and give you that inspiration, desire and motivation and start giving you vision of light at the end of the tunnel.
So, let me introduce my self to you first. My name is Claudia Paddison and I live on the beautiful Northern Beaches of Sydney. I am 50yrs young, am going through menopause however, I initially lost 2 dress sizes, have kept it off and maintain keeping it off through menopause not to mention I have energy to burn. Also, I have not had any of the horrible menopause symptoms I hear and read about. With what I will reveal below, I do not think this is a matter of good luck, I truly do believe it is a matter of keeping weight and health under control with some good basic nutrition for 10 years now and a little basic common sense knowledge.
You know there is nothing complex about weight loss, there really is not. It's as simple as calories in ....calories out. Yes, that does include metabolism and some people say you really need to do exercise to increase the metabolism, and this is true. But, it does come down to the 2 things, calories and exercise. Don't get turned off here, when the word exercise is mentioned.....I'm going to show you and turn your mind around with the word "exercise".
Most people don't exercise or turn their mind off exercise because immediately the mind goes to "time for exercise" or exercise is only a formal thing.....and here in lies the mistake. "Exercise" is merely "movement of the body" . It is not a formal thing, valid only if you take 30 minutes of your day at the gym or running, or doing weights. Let me explain, exercise can be as simple as.....if you live in a 2 story house.....consciously remembering to run....or at least start by walking faster.... up the stairs than you normally do now. Think about that for a moment, and if you do live in a 2 story house....imagine the increased movement of the body, which will equal exercise and increased metabolism just moving faster up those stairs (something you do anyway)?? Have I started getting you thinking about exercise slightly differently yet?? What if you do not have a 2 story house.....Well, is there from one end of your house to another (ie bedroom to kitchen) that there is space.....how about when going from one place to another (how many times do you do this in a day??).....you move between these spaces faster.....again, just start moving faster to start.....then perhaps add in a little trot. Do you know it is just a matter of how we think about things and becoming aware and it is amazing how much more we can increase our movement of body just along side what we already do in a day. Another little tip I give people.....Do you have a shower every day??? Do you brush you teeth every day?? Aren't these things daily habit?? When you brush you teeth, do you do it over a hand basin?? What about if you just stop for a moment before you brush your teeth....place your hands on the basin and do 10 push ups standing there against the basin.....now that would only take 1 or 2 minutes.....brush your teeth.....and repeat the same....just another 10 push ups & 1 or 2 minutes.....there you go you have just done 20 push ups along side brushing your teeth and it only took an extra 2 to 4 minutes. Do this consistently and you will start to see a result in your arms and again its body movement and contributing to that thing called exercise and metabolism. While your in the bathroom.....mmmm that bath tub edge has a use to and again not even 1 minute before a shower to use the edge of the bath tub to do bench sits....10 after shower....it's all just awareness and understanding every little bit helps and its all exercise and it only takes a minute here and there...but if you make it as much a habit as brushing your teeth or taking a shower .....guess what...results start to show. Oh and while your doing all these things in the bathroom.....make a conscious effort to hold in your tummy...that way your working your tummy as well.....strong abs and getting them is not just about sit ups. Hope that's helped in the exercise department and has you starting to think and opening up your imagination.
Lets now move onto calories. I bet you didn't know....that if you just reduce your calorie intake by 500 calories a day to what you are eating now....that you would lose about 1/2 to 1 kilo a week......this is absolutely true and correct. Don't believe me....try it. And again, this is where people mentally fail losing weight before they even get started. They think they have to reduce all this food intake or completely change their diet and it all seems so hard......No, it means if you eat 2500 calories now, you just reduce by 500 calories a day, meaning you are still going to eat 2000 calories a day.....you will lose 1 kilo a week.....Now doesn't that sound more encouraging, particularly for people that have a lot of weight to lose. Let's face it 2000 calories is still a lot of food. Will you continue to lose a kilo a week eating 2000 calories??? Well, there will come a time that the body does plateau at that calorie intake and when the weight loss plateau's then this is the time that you decrease another 500 calories per day.....however, it is not going be as hard at this point as it would be if you tried to drop 1000 calories right at the beginning. For a start your stomach will have shrunk, your habits will have changed and mentally it has not been a dramatic change so off course it is easier will power wise, to go gradually like this. So, to get started somewhere right now the first thing you have to do, is just start being aware of what and how many calories are you eating now, once you know this, then you can start to see where you can cut back to achieve cutting back 500 calories. Important point here.....make sure you include drinks you have in a day as well. For eg: full strength coke....has hundreds of calories per can.....diet coke has less than 20 odd......see it's that simple to cut back 500 cals....just switching from full strength to diet. Same with juices to diet drinks. People have opinions on this "diet drink" stuff but hey at the end of the day.....water really would be the best thing with zero calories...but again, lets go back to seeing why you are overweight and look at just the little bit of extra knowledge you have here right now which has probably already inspired you more than when you got this email and I bet you can already see yourself losing weight rather than building on those bad health issues and see, if the diet drink helps you start losing weight and getting you balanced....then you have a better chance of getting more in control and even progressing to water down the track, cutting back or even cutting out diet drinks....and the diet drinks wont be an issue. I hope that all the above information and tips on calories has really inspired and motivated you to see that you really can lose weight and it really can be simple and permanent and you can get control without it being daunting.
Now that I have given you some inspiring tips that take the mystery out of weight loss, you might say "yes well it still isn't that easy. I can cut back and all but I still don't feel good" or you might "feel irritable" or "I still crave certain types of foods, or I still get hungry". Well, here is the answer to this. When you've put a lot of junk into your body or eaten too much to the point that you are overweight.....then I hate to tell you this, but your body is insufficient of proper nutrients, and your body is actually starving. Irony isn't it....people think it's only those starving kids in africa that are starving and dying...but you know the biggest people in the world, their body's are starving tooo....which is why they are so sick with so many health issues. The only way you can get balance and health in your body is to get good balanced nutrition into your body. And, it is true, this day and age unfortunately good food does cost more than bad food.
Here is another tip. Did you know that the best weight loss you can have is centimeter/clothes size reduction greater than weight on scale reduction? This is the only measure that a weight loss program you are on is not only a very good weight loss programme but is also the healthiest for you and meaning you wll keep your weight off. Why is this you might ask?? Well, a great weight loss is where you are losing body fat and NOT muscle......and because fat weighs less than muscle....(to give you an idea....hold a plastic bottle of oil in one hand and a lean chunky steak in another and feel the difference of weight). So, you see you don't have to be a mathematician to work out if you are on a good weight loss program, you want to be losing far more in centimeters and clothes size than the number you see on that scale. When you see this, you know you are on a winner and only losing body fat......you don't want to be left saggy, do you...."saggy" happens when you are losing muscle as well as fat. Actually, again it is said now, it is normal that 3kilo loss equals 1 dress size loss.....yes you read it right...this is not a misprint here. I tell you this because the biggest sabotage of anyones weight loss is not seemingly seeing results, throwing hands up in the air and saying what the heck this isn't working.....right??? You need to be informed in all these areas so you know what is going on and know what to focus on....throw out the scales....they tell you lies. Try on the clothes that are tight and start to see the real, healthy weight loss. And, besides, when you've lost weight in the past....haven't people commented??? Now they didn't say to you......"wow, I can see you've lost 2kilo's" ....have they??? No, off course not, they see it in your face, in your size just by looking at you because you have shrunk.....you have to see your weight loss this way too and too often we only measure our results by that silly number on that silly scale that constantly is telling us lies.
How now do you ensure that you will be on a weight loss programme that will ensure that you only lose body fat and not muscle.....Well, you've probably heard of getting a good balance of protein in your diet. The reason protein is so good in your diet is because it also works as a great appetite satisfier and it feeds muscle. The more muscle mass you have the better your metabolism, the better your metabolism the more fat you burn...so you can clearly see "protein" is a must to a diet whether you need to lose weight or not , or to maintain healthy weight.....however, how to get the protein benefit without eating too much fat and calories?? and off course too much animal protein which can be heavy on your organs to digest, hence creating another problem? Science has now found that "pure" soy protein is the most efficiently digested protein that not only feeds muscle, but also is absorbed by the body and not left to be a burden on your organs. Now, I know there has also been a lot of controversy over soy protein, and if you do just a little research, beyond what the media says, which is always out of context......There certainly is "good" and "bad" soy. Question: How do you make sure you have good soy.....well, the best way is to leave it up to the experts that do all the testing which are the scientists and doctors and which they recommend and off course do your own research on the web.
Here are some doctors you can do a search on Dr. David Heber (UCLA), Dr Louise Ignaro (nobel prize winner), Dr. Luigi Gratton.
