Andropause is the abnormal health condition caused by the reduction of the androgens in the men’s body. Andropause is mostly linked with the old age because at this age generally the production of the androgens, specifically, testosterone is reduced or completely stopped. Andropause and hair loss often go hand in hand. Imagine clumps of hair falling off your head, or observing strands of once healthy hair collecting in the shower drain.
Aside from the physical changes, psychological changes that challenged their masculinity are augmented during the andropausal years. A man, no matter what age he is, tends to struggle to prove his strong sexuality, composed emotions, intellectual mind, supreme courage, good productivity, and strong personality, character and behavior.
One of the most worrying trends of our modern society is the decreasing threshold age for andropause. Andropause is the male equivalent of the female menopause that usually affects men between the ages of 40 and 55. However, this is not how it was supposed to be. A mere hundred years ago andropause did not start until the early 50s, but the industrialized society that we live in has turned andropause into a man triggered condition.
Menopause in women is defined as the time when the menstrual periods cease. Based on this, men cannot have menopause. But, as the doctors have argued, they can undergo andropause which is now known as the male equivalent of menopause in women. Males who have andropause manifest the same symptoms as those women with menopause.
